What is Lamisil?

Lamisil 1% is a topical antifungal drug that is used to treat fungal infections of the skin and nails. Lamisil works by killing the fungus that causes athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm. Lamisil is available in blister packs of 10 tablets and blister packs of 12 tablets, containing the active ingredient terbinafine hydrochloride.

Lamisil is not suitable for use by women, children, or people taking hormonal contraceptives. It should not be taken by children under the age of 18.

Lamisil is only available with a prescription from your doctor as it cannot be taken by children. If you have an allergy to terbinafine or any other ingredients in the Lamisil package, you should avoid taking the drug.

Although Lamisil is generally well-tolerated, it can cause side effects such as headache, nausea, and dizziness. These usually subside with continued use. If you experience any severe side effects, such as difficulty breathing, seizures, or swelling of your face or lips, seek medical attention immediately.

Although Terbinafine hydrochloride topical solution is generally safe for use, it may be necessary to pay more attention to your fungal infection. If you are taking antifungal medication for vaginal yeast infections, it may take several weeks to feel the full benefits of the medication.
